It's Christmastime In The City

Sorry for the slowdown in posts recently! I've been super-busy at college with finals and whatnot, but I'm home for Christmas break which means a lot more posts (at least until school starts back up in mid-January)! But now, back to the important stuff! Ever since I saw the Gossip Girl episode "The Treasure of Serena Madre" I've been obsessed with lace. Serena's Stella McCartney jumpsuit had a gorgeous inset of lace in the deep v-neck. Small touches of lace like this outfit has are very chic, especially for all those holiday parties coming up. So take a cue from Miss van der Woodsen and add a bit of lace to a simple outfit. This Free People top, left, is a simple knit with lace sleeves and an open lace back for an air of mystery. Worn tucked into a full high-waisted miniskirt with tights and heels or even with dark skinny jeans and a shrunken blazer, this top is a very versatile piece. The Rugby dress, right, has the same couture holiday feel but in a more exaggerated way. A simple strapless black minidress overlayed in lace would be perfect with heels for a party or a blazer, tights, and boots for a trip to the Upper East Side. Just remember to keep the lace classy and chic and you'll be the belle of the ball this holiday season.
